a secret place

In 2004 the police of Paris discovered a cinema in an uncharted cavern. There they found different kinds of tasks, like swastikas, celtic crosses and the Star of David.
When people asked them for the discovered they said they didn’t know anything about that. They have no clue about who could do it, and the purpose of it.
Working on it they found an electricity system in which the people who were there could record, by camera, anyone who passed. This, according to the police, was to keep strangers away.
The place looks like an “underground amphitheater”. Police also found a cinema screen and different films even recently thrillers.
The electricity system was very sophisticated, and these surprise them. They even have phone lines. So police decided to call expert too see, and try to explain how can they received it, and from where. But when they came, they found a note in the floor. It said: “Do not try to find us”.
Today people can go to visit the place and take guide tours. But there are restrict sections.

I choose this new because I found it interesting. It gave me curious to know what have happened there, because by the note you can tell that the place used to work till police found it. So maybe that was the place where a secret sect or society used to have reunions in. And it’s logical that they keep meeting  but in other place.

books

I have always love reading, when i was little my mom used to buy me books which i could interact with.I have to write on them or paint.  My favorite books were a couple I bought in Argentina (I’m pretty sure if a read them now I would find them very very silly). I think that her and my grandmother taught me the pleasure of reading, it gave me and amazing imagination, when I was little, I and used to write my own stories, and I did my own books.  Now I prefer reading real stories than fiction. Harry Potter or The lord of the rings, were never my type. My favorite books are Fahrenheit 451, La Soledad de los Números Primos and The Catcher in the Rye, I’m probably forgetting one. But those kinds of book get my attention. I like reading about psychology, esotericism and history too.  Reading also helps you to have more vocabulary (besides imagination).

Right now I’m reading Confieso que he vivido (Pablo Neruda), A Clockwork Orange (Antonhy Burgues), and Raro (Óscar Contardo). I can’t avoid reading more than one book at the time, because when I get bored of one I have so many that I can’t help staring with other one even if I’m reading four or more. I never get confused or connect the stories of each book.

somewhere

I don’t know why this topic is so difficult for me. Probably because I can’t find just one favorite place (and if you think about it, I can never choose just one thing of anything jeje).  So I will talk about places I like in Santiago. First of all, is important to say that I like Santiago a lot, but I can understand why someone would hate it. I’m used to the rhythm of the city, the noise and the people. And I definitely like it. One of the things I like the most is going to the center and walking, because always strange things happen. To just walk I would choose that place. To eat I like “pollisimo” which is in baquedano, or “papi pollo” which is in manuel montt, near my school. The best French fries I have ever tasted have been from there.  To drink mojitos I’m not sure yet, but I’m doing a list of the best places to have one (but I haven’t choose the first place). To dance anywhere is a good place if you are with the right people (that sounds so missifus, #sorrynotsorry).

Well there are a lot of things you can do in the city, going to the cinema, the theatre, concerts, etc. There are so many activities for each day that you can turn any place in something special for you.  It will be easier if you choose the right people to spend that time with.

French fries and gravity fallks, forever and alwayssss

Well is really easy to make me happy, i would say that there are more things that make me happy than sad.  But if I had to make a list I would probably put French fries first. Watching videos of people, especially children, falling would be second. I can’t resist laughing at these videos.  The third place would be for mojitos.

Well thinking it more carefully I guess that right now the thing that brings more happiness into my life is Gravity Falls. This is an animated series from Disney xd, created by Alex Hirsch. It is about the story of two brothers (Mabel and Dipper) who have to spend their summer in their uncle’s house, who lives in gravity falls, Oregon.  There, mysterious things happen, and the kids will try to solve the problems to find what really happens there.  When I watched the first episode in Disney, two year ago I thing, it did catch my attention, but then one day (this year) I was in Netflix and I didn’t know what to watch so in the section of “select for you” I saw this series and I thought, well, why not. This was the begging of something I would have no idea. Since that day I just couldn’t think in anything else. I would prefer staying at home watching this than going out with my friends.

When I watched all the series (the 3 seasons) my obsession stopped, and I came back to reality.

exercises

I did different exercises, the most difficult for me was the listening part, because sometimes I get lost and I didn’t hear some things. To improve it, and do it better, I think I have to speak more in English with other people, doing this I will listen to them, and that will help me. Reading and vocabulary was easier for me.

eloísa díaz

A person I admire. When I think about this topic there are many names that comes to my mind, the majorities comes from my family and are women. So, if I have to talk about a public person I admire, I would talk about Eloísa Díaz. She was the first woman in Chile who studied medicine in Universidad de Chile (back at 1866).
I heard about her in school. I was impressed because at the time that was not a thing ladies should do. So she was a brave women who knew what she wanted, and did the right things to get it.
At this moment of the history, we have many women who fight every day for our rights, to have the same opportunity as men and to stop the harassment. But everywhere there is always someone who do things first, and then others who follow. In this case, being the first women going to college was a big step. In a sexist society where only men could study and women had to stay at home, caring for her children, I imagine that her choice was not well looked at at first. Probably there were people who tried to stop her, and even if she didn’t have to fight with anyone, I admire her for having the courage to do something no women did.

And this was not just a big step to her; it was for all women in Chile who after her could go to college. She proved women have the same qualities as men.

a good present

I like presents a lot, so my birthday is my favorite day in the year. I think I could not talk about just one present that has been special for me. So I will talk about the ones I remember. When I was 6 my mom bought me a memorice, and at the time, that was my favorite game, I could spend hours playing it, I didn’t care if a have no one to play with, I could play it along even it is a two players game. When she saw how happy I was with it, she started to buy different kinds of tabletop games for me. When I was 7 my dentist removed one of my teeth, my mom congratulate me and bought me a Barbie’s phone, it was not real, but it has lots of record in the answering machine, so you could make plans for your Barbies, it was funnn. For Christmas, last year, I received a keyboard and it has become special for me. At first I didn’t know how to occupy it, but I watched lots of videos in YouTube. Now, I wouldn’t say I’m an expert on the field but I have learned many things that have been helping me with my progress. Now I have it in my room, and I like playing it at night because that way I can enjoy more the sound, during the day the noise around my house don’t let me do that.

teachers

When i was in playgroup i had a teacher who was like a mom for us. She was always worried about us (in a good way), if we did the right things in class, like answering nice or having a good behavior  she gave us gifts (like candies) so at the time I thought I wanted to be like her, I wanted to be a teacher. This didn’t last much; maybe because I couldn’t imagine myself in a class with lots of children, I am not a very patient person.  In middle school I have a teacher who taught us language.  She was a powerful woman, always concerned of our learning, and giving us books to read, to be more intelligent. I admired her, she knew about everything, and you could talk to her about anything, she will never said no to a conversation, even if it was not about the class. Again I stared to have doubt about my future; maybe being teacher will not be that bad. But, in our society everyone knows that it’s a badly paid job, so I gave up to that idea. Anyway, I’ve had many good teachers in school, who acted more like parents and psychology than teachers, but that make me realized than being a professor is so much more than giving class, and that’s is way I admire them.

valdivia, amigos, risas

In my free post I will talk about my trip to Valdivia for the film festival. Until now we have been very lucky, because everything, in terms of food, housing, etc. has worked perfectly.
So, i'm only going to tell you about the funny stuff.
First the bus: a friend arrived drunk, very drunk, so you can probably imagine how the trip was. Besides she brought more alcohol to share with everyone, so as soon as the bus started we began drinking. In about 30 minutes time an old man had already complained about our behaviour.
Then things calmed down a little, everyone went to sleep.
At 10 o'clock, approximately, we arrived, we took a taxi and went to the cabin. The first day we spent it walking around sightseeing, had lunch at the Última Frontera, while we were there another classmate showed up, to collect his credencial for the festival. It seemed he had sniffed some strong thing. At night we went to a club near the Municipalidad, called Gaz-Gaz. it was the official place to party assigned by the festival. It was full of sugar daddys and people of the university.
The second day we watched movies and went to gaz gaz again. There we saw our teacher's helpers, who were an epidemic. Anyway, we partied with them.
The third day was the same.
The fourth day we went to a different place to party, but honestly i can barely differentiate one night from another
In spite of everything it has been a good experience to share with my friends, and followers, thankssssssss

the planet

I don’t see myself as an eco-friendly person, but i try to do some things to contribute to the environment. I thing is important to star taking care of the place where we live, because If we don’t worry about that, the generation in the future will have to pay for our mistakes. It is known that planet is passing through a difficult moment, in the Antarctic the glaciers are melting, in other parts the summer is too long. So it is important to create a clean culture now.
I used to study in Providencia, there the mayor makes lots of plans to keep clean the comuna. The municipality put trash in every corner, in schools there were plans to recycle paper and the garbage’s truck passes frequently. So he tried to make a difference in that way. In my house we separate out trash to take it into the garbage at supermarkets. That is something everyone should do. Other thing people should star to do more often is using the bicycle or a different means of transport instead of car or bus, those are more polluting. But people seems to not care about

I don’t belong to any eco-organization, because I consider that to be part of one you need time, or gives money every month, but I don’t trust in doing that, because not always the money goes where it supposed to go, so to make a change I prefer to do things by myself.

11/9

I think is important to have an opinion because is something that, in spite of the 42 years that have pass, is until now a topic that for lots of people needs to be talked about.  My family wasn’t involved directly in the problem, with this I mean they didn’t have troubles, or missing friends at that time. My parents were very young at that time, but my grandmother and my grandfather remember lots of things. My grandmother (on my mom side) used to work at the Salvador’s hospital, and she told me she was there when was there when the body of Allende arrived. Nobody said anything and they weren’t allowed to ask questions, so that was what she did. Also Pinochet made nurses take the military service (that have benefits till now for her). However she is not happy with his dictatorship and thinks that he was a murder.
In my personal opinion I think that it doesn’t matter how many years ago it happened, till people who were responsible of all crimes that took place at the time speak, people will always be hurt. And it’s important, as a community to support them and their fights. I put myself in the case of having a missing relative and probably I would do the same things that they do. But I don’t think that violence is the answer to this, or a way to make “them” talk. Is more like a way to express the anger of people who the only thing that want is answers.

fondas

Since always I had loved these parties, I think is because they are like little vacation in the middle of the year. When I was little I used to spend these days with my family at the beach, but now I prefer to stay in Santiago or go to the beach, but with my friends. Last year we went to Pichilemu (with my school friends) but this year we all did different things, because of the strike our holidays were altered.  This year I stayed in Santiago, and I went to different “fondas” that take place here. On Wednesday I was going to go to the fonda minera, but because of the earthquake I could (I’ve fear of them), so I stay in home. On Thursday I went to a disco with my friends who stayed here like me (who were just a few). On Friday I was going to a party in Bellavista but there was all full, so finally I didn’t. And finally on Saturday in the morning I went with my parents to the fondas in parque intercomunal La Reina and in the afternoon I went to Parque O’higgins to see Villa Cariño (a band).

I have to say that this was no my best 18, but at least I could spent time with friends that I can barely see during the year, because our schedule doesn’t match. And, as I stayed in Santiago I have time to be with my family, because they celebrated the 18th at my house.

A PLACE I'D LIKE TO VISIT

Travelling is one of the things I like to do the most. I tried to do it often, because somehow it helps me to relax. Now, there is no place I would like to visit desperately, because all my life I dreamed with going to Venezia and last month I went there with my family. In spite of this there are places in Chile that I don’t know, but I want to, like the Paine’s towers or Atacama’s salt flat. Chile have different places with different weathers, so you can go to the beach or to the dessert, and I think that is an important thing we should take advice of.
I would like to, in the future, study in Spain, altought Chile will always be an option for me, because I love it. But in Madrid or Barcelona, my career is more important so there I can learn more things than here.
